As I work on my own mindfulness practice, I've realized the importance of teaching our children and teens tools for mindfulness - tools to help settle their mind, regulate emotions, connect to emotions, and ultimately connect to their inner wisdom and intuition.
Below are tools I use/like/recommend. It's important to remember that mindfulness is something that needs to be practiced for it to be useful, especially with kiddos. We can't expect our children to jump into using mindfulness tools when they're upset/angry/dysregulated and expect them to work. Mindfulness tools need to be practiced in a calm state, so that THEN when a kiddo is upset or angry, then can utilize the tools and then they actually work.
