Counseling for College Students College can be an exciting and challenging time in life. It's a time of big transitions, big decisions, and big stressors. Sometimes it's necessary to have someone else to talk to, to guide you through your experience and help you stay grounded so that you can get the most out of college while growing frienships, focusing on the future, moving towards graduation, and making it through finals! There is no doubt that college is stressful. Most individuals are living in a new setting (if not a new city), trying to navigate to social scene and on top of it all make sure to pass classes, figure out what you want to do, and at some point get a degree. Most are still working on trying to answer the question - who am I? Expectations from parents, tough classes, dating, feeling homesick or out of place can all contribute to feelings of anxiety, depression, pressure & stress. I provide a space away from all the "stuff" to help process what you are going through. We will work through the emotions - stress, fear, sadness - and develop skills to handle whatever may come your way. At this time in your life, it is critical that you have the right support. My office is located close to the University of Washington (UW) campus and is along a major bus line. I'm also within reach of North Seattle Community College and Seattle Pacific University (SPU). |
